Not Jewelry. A Reminder.

My church did a series on God-given gifts. At the end, they asked one question: are you using your gifts for the Kingdom of God? The honest answer was no. I had a background in casting metal, a skill I had developed over years, and I was not doing anything with it that mattered beyond the work itself.

I used to wear a cross. At some point I swapped it for a Spartan helmet pendant. I always felt a little off about that, like I had traded the thing that actually meant something for something that just looked strong. So I made something that combined them. The cross visor cut into the face of the helmet. The Helmet of Salvation, made to wear.

The deeper reason was personal. I kept forgetting to rely on Christ. Not in a dramatic way. Just in the everyday way that men do. A problem comes up and you fix it. A challenge hits and you push through. I needed a reminder I could feel, something that would catch me in the middle of the day and pull me back to the right question.

From that idea to the launch of Cross & Helm was two weeks. That is how fast it came together once I stopped overthinking it and trusted that God had already worked out the details. As we grow, we give back to church ministries and missions doing real work in the Kingdom. It was never just a pendant company.
